So I’m terrible for procrastination. Very rarely do I have blog posts wrote before they go up and when I was at Uni I would always be the one doing an all nighter the night before an assignment was due in. Every. Single. Time.

This isn’t because I start these things last minute. I don’t really. I just get distracted by all the things around me. Not going to lie. It is normally either twitter instagram or Youtube. But recently I’ve been more organised and prepared. I have post scheduled to go and ideas ready to be used. Which is all really new to me.

So I thought I would share with you some of the things I’ve been doing to try to stop procrastinating.

Laptop and Daily Journal

50/10 rule

So the 50/10 rules is when you spend 50 minutes doing the tasks you need to get done and then 10 minutes having a break and repeat. I find this so useful as otherwise I get very distracted very quickly. By doing this it helps me to stay focused for the 50 minutes as I then know I’ll have the 10 minutes to catch up and look at things like social media.

Breaking goals down into smaller goals and set deadlines

When I don’t have a deadline for my goals, I find that I just keep putting them off and they never get done. I’ve found now that when I take a goal and make them into lots of smaller goals it is much easier. To make this even better I have a planner where I put in what I want to get done at certain times of the day which allows me to keep on track with what I want to get done for the day.

I got my planner from Urban Outfitters.

Remind yourself why the task is important

Whether its your blog or assignments for school or University or maybe even revision for an exam. It’s important to remember why it’s important to you. That should hopefully give you the bit of motivation you need to get started.

So these are some of the things I try do to stop procrastinating and stay motivated.

Now if you’ve read my previous posts like my travel bucket list. You’ll know I love a good travel list. Which is why even though I’ve had this book for ages I am still obsessed with it.

The photos and the descriptions of all the places in this book just make me want to visit them all.

So here are just some of the reasons I love it so much.

One of the reasons I love this books so much is that I love lists. I love a clear list of places I want to go and see. This book helps me to add new places easily. I’m now trying to visit as many of these places as possible.

The photos in this book are just fantastic. They make me want to go to each and every place making them all look so beautiful.

For each of the 500 locations there is a bit of basic information about each place. Even though it is fairly basic and some people may know the majority of it, there was still quite a lot that I didn’t know before reading this book which was helpful as it also gave some tips for certain places.

One of the best things I have found with this book though is that there were so many places beforehand that I’d either never heard of or at least never thought of going to before and it has made me add so many new places to the list of places I need to visit.

Every time I’m feeling a bit down or just needing a little bit of added wanderlust to my life I always turn to this book for some inspiration.

So we are now going into a new season. Part of me is sad to see Summer go and part of me is ready for cosy jumpers and hot chocolate and halloween. It also means its time to look for new clothes for the season. I thought I would show you some of the things I have been lusting over and will be tempted to buy this season.

So August has been a pretty big month for me. This blog launched which has been so great and exciting. So I thought I would share some of my favourite things I’ve found this month.

looking over York

If you haven’t already seen me go on and on about this Dress already then where have you been! I’ve been talking about it so much on my social media and blog. It’s become my absolute favourite this month!

Infallible foundation and NYX Eyeshadow Palette

So I tried to pick just one Beauty favourite for the month but I couldn’t. I managed to narrow it down to two though.

So first the NYX Palette. Well I am obsessed. I now wear this all the time. I am loving the warm neutrals for this Autumn too. The best thing about it was that it was only £16 too!

Now for quite some time I’ve not bought any drugstore foundations and oh have I been making a mistake! I’d heard so many good things about the Infallible foundation but I just assumed it was over hyped. But it’s not. It’s incredible. If you love full coverage foundation you need to try it!

A couple of weeks ago I spend a bit of time in York. I always forget how much I love York. The Minister, shops and oh my god the Fudge! If you’ve never been it is definitely worth the visit! If you want to read more about my trip you can here.

Atypical has been my favourite show this month. Atypical is a Netflix original series about an 18 year old on the Autism Spectrum trying to seek more independence. The show is really funny. I was gutted that it was only 8 episodes!

So here you have it my favourites for August.
