Before I went to university I was a complete morning person. Always up and out of bed before 7 normally. Then University ruined all that. I was lucky if I ever saw the morning. And even since then until a few months ago even if I woke up early I struggled to get out of bed at an early time. But the last few months I’ve been so motivated and getting up early, even getting out of bed early and doing work early. So here are just a few things I’ve been doing to start being a morning person.
Get up at the same time everyday
Now I can’t say I’m perfect at this one, but I try my best. Most days I try and wake up at around 7 and be out of bed for about half past. I sometimes lie in from time to time but waking up and getting up at the same time everyday makes it so much easier over time to be a morning person.
Have something to look forward to when you wake up
This could be waking up and having your coffee or working out depending on what you enjoy doing. Or it could be having plans for the evening and knowing as soon as you have your work done you can see friends, go for dinner, do activities you love. Stop waiting for Friday’s to start enjoying life. Make sure everyday is enjoyable.
Have a better night time routine
Going to bed earlier, not looking at electronics before you go to bed both are good ways of making sure you’ll feel better in the morning. Try and give yourself half an hour or so before you go to bed to just wind down and get yourself ready for bed. Create a calm experience for yourself before you go to sleep and over time your body will get used to it and know when it’s time to sleep and shut down.
